The Health Minister’s Proposal
“That Tynwald is of the opinion that the Public Health Directorate should prepare a research paper, to be considered by the Council of Ministers by December 2023, exploring fluoridation of water, the effects this may have on the population, to what extent it would reduce levels of tooth decay and whether it would be a more efficient and effective way of preventing tooth decay in children than targeted fluoride varnish application; a report to Tynwald, including the research paper, with any conclusions and recommendations should be published on the Register of Business by the February 2024 deadline.”
